New Director's Fund
Greetings Alumni, Parents and Friends of William Lawrence Camp:
As you may know, David Conover became the new Executive Director of William Lawrence Camp on October 1st . Please join us in officially welcoming him to the William Lawrence Camp Family. For several weeks leading up to officially becoming the new executive director, David started to reach out and seek input from a wide range of the William Lawrence Camp community members. Through these initial discussions, it became clear that David has the energy and vision for ensuring the success of William Lawrence Camp, bringing new ideas and programs, while respecting and honoring what so many of us have benefited from - William Lawrence Camp Spirit and a well rounded experience.
In order to jump start David’s efforts, and embrace his enthusiasm and vision, we are launching the William Lawrence Camp Director’s Fund 2024/2025, with the goal of raising $150,000 in new unrestricted funds to launch David’s efforts to increase enrollment and reinvest in WLC. We have attached a brief overview of the Camp Director’s Fund and the initial priorities that David has outlined as for his new role and as the steward of William Lawrence Camp. While many of you have been involved and supported WLC over the years, this effort is intended to reengage William Lawrence Camp Family members at this important juncture and demonstrate our collective commitment to camp and David as he brings experience, energy, and enthusiasm to William Lawrence Camp.
To kick start the Director’s Fund, $12,000 has been pledged by the Crellins, the Golledges and a generous pledge from David Conover. We are confident that drawing on past experiences and relationships that were formed on The Knoll, we should be able to exceed the $100,000 goal.
Please donate whatever is meaningful and within your reach, as we come together to invest in the Future of William Lawrence Camp. Suggested donations for consideration are $2,500, $5,000 or $10,000, however we recognize and appreciate individual circumstances, and any amount is appreciated. If you have any questions or can help spread the word, please reach out, we are all in this together.
In the meantime, you may be hearing from David as his goal is to connect with WLC Alums so he can learn from their experiences at camp and gather feedback on how we can continue to do the good work of growing and building young men.
